from Chris Cain (Little Village Foundation 2017) —A musician's musician, all soul, blues to the bone, playing guitar, piano, alto sax and those crazy deep vocals.


Cookie McGee “Back Playing the Blues”
from Right Place (JSP Records 1998) —Cookie on lead guitar and vocals. She grew up in Dallas just across the street from Freddie King, and ran with King's kids while growing up (including forming bands with them).


Otis Rush “Me”
from Mourning in the Morning (Cotillion Records 1969) —A Michael Bloomfield/Nick Gravenites composition. Recorded at FAME Studios, including Jerry Jemmott on bass, Duane Allman, Roger Hawkins, and more.


Jack McDuff “Georgia On My Mind”
from Check This Out (Cadet Records unk 1972) —Recorded LIVE at the wonderfully named "Mandrake Club" in Berkeley, CA. Late period Chess/Cadet Records, when they were sold to the GRT "tape" corporation.


Johnny Lytle “Blues Time”
from Swingin' At The Gate (Pacific Jazz Records 1967) —Recorded at the Top of the Gate, New York City, and featuring the sublimely understated monster B3 player Jimmy Foster.
