Spring is here and with it Festival Season is upon us! This Radio Jam show features songs that are popular to play in jams at music festivals and also songs we'll be playing at my "Learn to Jam!" workshop at the May 2024 Strawberry Music Festival.

In celebration of Women's History Month and in recognition of the amazing female artists who won Grammys this year, this Radio Jam show promotes "female-forward" jamming and the idea of selecting songs to play in music jams with lyrics that help women players feel welcome and included. With Valentine's Day approaching, now is a great time to learn some new love songs! February's Radio Jam show features songs about all kinds of love - past love, lost love, passionate love, and range from "two-chord" to "jambitious" songs to share with people you love.

The new year is a great time to pick up new habits, such as jamming! This Jan. 6th episode of Radio Jam features several 2-chord and 3-chord songs, and songs with repeating chord patterns that are easy to learn. Songs of freedom and the eternal struggle for democracy are also included to pay homage to the third anniversary of the 2021 Insurrection and the upcoming MLK Day celebration.

In honor of Veteran's Day, today's show features songs about war, peace and freedom, including songs of the 40's and 50's from the Alexander family music collection - everything from WWII folk songs to present-day wishes for peace in the Middle East. Through playing music and singing together may we find our way to a brighter future.
