I let my FB page die for the same reason. They seemed to be convinced it was a business, but I just wanted it to be a discussion and information group. I could also never really tell what the end-user experience would be like. Welcome to the Anthropocene.
Brian D (Donor) 6:01:40 PM
Went to a great bluegrass fest right next to railroad tracks. All these great songs playing for 3 - 4 days often about trains or trains in lyrics. And every hour or more... a train would pass right by and blow the horn! Love it
Richard from Rocky Hill 6:01:47 PM
Although the irrepressible Shirley Temple "OMG Thanks!" .gif clip is payment and stoke-up enough ...
Readie Righteous Recurring Donor! (host) 6:01:48 PM
Hey y'all welcome!! Yeah, I wonder what Selecta is up to!!
Richard from Rocky Hill 6:03:03 PM
Hey Brian D ... where was (or name of) that bluegrass festival by the train tracks? DelFest, perchance?
Rowan Quintero 6:03:05 PM
Just now realized I don;t have to be in my car to listen to wprb. Going to abuse this for all exam study sessions from now on.
Brian D (Donor) 6:03:23 PM
And the harmony vocals, fiddles, dobros, harmonicas often imitate the train sounds too of course
Readie Righteous Recurring Donor! (host) 6:04:01 PM
That fest sounds amazing, Brian D. I love trains! I went over to the tracks one day and it was awesome to hear that rumble up close! I just raised up my arms and shouted!
Brian D (Donor) 6:04:46 PM
Bingo Richard ! Del Yeah ! Western Maryland West Viriginia just over the ridge
Brian D (Donor) 6:05:14 PM
Tiny tiny sliver the Potomac river out there
Readie Righteous Recurring Donor! (host) 6:05:17 PM
Hey Richard, have you been to that fest?
Brian D (Donor) 6:06:29 PM
Bends in the river make it WV view in all directions just about
Readie Righteous Recurring Donor! (host) 6:06:51 PM
What was that one on the river in Philly? That was always a good one
Brian D (Donor) 6:08:09 PM
Several... River Blues, Jambalaya Jam.. etc
Readie Righteous Recurring Donor! (host) 6:08:39 PM
Yeah, I've been to all at least once.
Brian D (Donor) 6:09:07 PM
Miss those. Was talking in chat other day about them. I met Terence Simien once and he really missed Jamb. Jam too
Richard from Rocky Hill 6:11:14 PM
Thanks, Brian D -- and, yes, Readie, I've been to DelFest (hosted by the Del McCoury Band) a few times. Certainly remembered the train tracks close by. Being in the Maryland-West Virginia area, lots of trains run by CSX (the old Chesapeake & Ohio railroad) rolled by!
Readie Righteous Recurring Donor! (host) 6:12:35 PM
Yeah, and the Folk Fest too. One of the last times I went I met Peter Yarrow of Peter Paul and Mary- it was a thrill-their music was soundtrack of my infancy.
Readie Righteous Recurring Donor! (host) 6:12:58 PM
And also David Amram- a hero of mine as well
Richard from Rocky Hill 6:13:01 PM
(Resending, my last one seems to have gone lost) Yes, Readie, I've been to DelFest, hosted by the Del McCoury Band. This being Western Maryland, lots of the trains & cars were from CSX (the old Chesapeake & Ohio Railroad).
Richard from Rocky Hill 6:13:21 PM
oops, the first one DID go thru ...
Readie Righteous Recurring Donor! (host) 6:14:04 PM
That's cool, Richard. Hope things open up again soon!

Readie Righteous Recurring Donor! (host) 6:18:22 PM
CHEF!!! welcome! and may I say a huge thank you to you for helping make the drive a huge success, and BIG DELISH FUN too!
Richard from Rocky Hill 6:18:31 PM
One thing that makes DelFest so much fun ... it attracts the tie-dye audiences who got into bluegrass via Jerry Garcia (who was a good & serious 5-string banjo picker). And to them, total straight-arrow guitarist/ lead singer & b.g. veteran Del McCoury is a bleepin' ROCK STAR!!! I'd compare it to Tony Bennett becoming a huge fav on MTV in the latter part of his career. Both Del and Tony make timless music even if it's not rock, they're awesome genuinely nice people! Young listeners respond to it
jimbeaux 6:19:02 PM
