They partnered with Werner Herzog to provide soundtracks to several of his films. The band got its name from "Popol Vuh" which is a text recounting the mythology and history of the Kʼicheʼ people, one of the Maya peoples, who inhabit Guatemala and several Mexican states, as well as areas of Belize and Honduras. |
